Video duration: 26 seconds First pull with 61 ford F350 in the "street legal diesel" class 7-20-07. first try I had to high a gear, second try I dropped a gear. Final pull was 205'. Air starter, Ingersoll-Rand turbine type, Detroit 4-53T Posted by: Grigg3
Video duration: 41 seconds I changed out the older vane type Ingersoll Rand 150BMP starter for a new Turbine type 150T starter (the left one in the first picture). It fits just the same, although I made a new end housing to allow for a cleaner connection to the 1.25" air line. Detroit Diesel 4-53T air starter Posted by: Grigg3
Video duration: 18 seconds First time with the air starter in 1948 Chevy 2 ton truck I am building. Air tank volume is 62 gallons, initial pressure was about 95 psi, relay valve closed when pressure dropped to 30 psi, total of 10 seconds of cranking time. I was not trying to start the engine, only test starter and check for fuel and oil leaks, as engine had not been run before in this truck. Related: 4-53t, air, detroit, diesel, starter |
